Welcome to the T. J. Blog!
Hello! My name is Trevor Jackson, founder of T. J. Biographies and as of April 29, 2020, this blog.
I want to start this blog for a few reasons.
First, I want to create a place for discussion in this community. While social media is great for proclaiming a provocative message and sharing family photos, it is not designed for well-thought out dialogue between people. I believe there is a need and a place for this. As we figure out the best way to do this, I’d like to offer anyone a chance to write a guest column and display it here, in that it pertains to the preserving of history in some capacity.
Secondly, I’d like to emphasize how important it is to share your heritage with both your family and to a greater number of ears. Perhaps you have a unique family history, or your parents started a small company and you grew up assisting them--others will want to hear. I consistently find that stories from “regular people” are the most rewarding and fascinating.
Thirdly, I’d like to serve as a model by which others can document, or begin to document, their past or their family’s past. After someone we love passes on, we have questions for them that, by the very nature of death, will remain unanswered. I have started to document my own family’s history and I suggest everyone should as well if possible.
Lastly, as I begin my journey to help others pass on their memories to future generations, I would like a platform where I can share the stories that I believe many would find interesting and intriguing. I will only ever publish with clients’ permission, and will refrain from using their names, if desired.
Thank you for becoming a part of the T. J. Blog. We will reminisce again soon.
